My daughter can be described as simple but smart, friendly but reserved, liberal in outlook but impeccable in behavior, spiritual but not religious or ritualistic. She is warm, affectionate and a very grounded person who gets along with everyone and is comfortable in both indian and western cultures. She is a sweet, compassionate and sensitive soul who loves pets, has a passion for reading and writing, enjoys dancing, music, travelling. She values honesty and integrity a lot.
We belong to Sangrur district in Punjab though she was born and brought up in Odisha, where I was posted in my career as an IAS officer(1976 batch). Her schooling is from St Josephs convent and she went on to acquire Bachelors and Masters degrees from Delhi University at Miranda House and South Campus, respectively. She left for the US to pursue her PhD in Molecular Biology and then worked for some years subsequently. After spending nearly a decade in the US she returned to India and is now an Assistant Professor.
